Leave it to H to find a sweet deal online and we, along with 6 of our friends, are booked to stay at a lavish villa on a separate island in Phuket. We stayed at The Village Coconut Island Resort which is a 5 minute boat ride from the Royal Phuket Marina. Once you arrive in Phuket, it takes roughly 20 minutes to get to the marina via cab.
We arrived pretty late at the island resort but luckily, boat transfers from the marina to the island were available 24 hours. Let me tell you how sweet of a deal we got here. Apart from getting our villa at a fairly cheap price, we also had 3 complimentary bottles of wine, complimentary airport and sea transfers, 60 minute massage of our choice for each person, daily breakfast buffet, and a welcome platter of strawberries dipped in chocolate. If that ain't sweet, i dunno what is!

The 3 bedroom beachfront villa is fully equipped with a kitchen, has its own private infinity edged pool, terrace, garden, and a bathtub that can fit 3 people in the Masters bedroom! You can enjoy the serene view at the foot of your doorstep. It was so nice waking up to hear the birds chirp and the sound of the waves. Just a bit of a downside during our stay at The Village was that we experienced some water/plumbing problems one day just when everyone was getting ready to go to Patong beach. Also, the staff needs more training as we felt like some of our requests took forever to be entertained. All in all the group enjoyed the trip!
We had a lovely dinner by this unassuming marina resto where everything was dirt cheap but the food was delicious. More about that in a future post.
